Face the Music

words & music by Michael Stillwater
Recorded in a Salt Lake City studio in 1990, Sanctuary was the first publicly released album of Michael Stillwater's spontaneous intuitive singing. The entire album was a continous recording, without break, in response to the energy of the gathered studio audience attending the session.

There is a dreaming, a dreaming that fills our soul
And we've been dreaming so long that we've lost control
Of the dreaming
And now it seems we are here trapped inside a dream

I join with you my friend today
To remember the pattern
I join with you my friend today
Let us climb the ladder
And find the missing part
The missing part inside our heart
To find the missing point of view
The missing point of view

Take it on now
Awaken to the song now
And face the music in your soul
Face the music in your soul

Face the music like a child
Face the music so tender and mild
You are a dreamer and I am with you
You are a dreamer of dreams that come true
Let us face the music together my friend
Let us face the song that will never end
Let us face the notes that hold us together in time
Let us find the vibration that fills our heart and our body and mind
Let us face the muse, let us face the muse
Let us drink our fill from the well that doesn't ever run dry
Let us drink our fill from the well that never ever runs dry
Let us drink our fill and remember that we can fly
As we lift up our wings and let go of other things

And so we face the music with an open heart
Knowing well that it comes from where we all do start
And we can always be together
We never need be apart
When we drink from the well
And face the music in our lives
Face the music in our hearts
When we face the music now
