A forum for exploring deeper presence, co-facilitated by Michael Stillwater and Doris Laesser Stillwater. Retreats include music, contemplative exercises, and conversation for awakening our innate remembrance of who we are. We now offer six-day retreats in a monastery in Assisi, Italy.
Song Sanctuary: Embracing the Music of You
Using song in a way both relaxing, challenging and joyful, participants are encouraged towards creative self-expression by focusing on their natural voice rather than giving a performance. Our no-pressure atmosphere invites the possibility of healing recovery and creative discovery. Program elements include ChantWave, SongSourcing, The Honoring and 'In Search of The Great Song' Film Series.
Reconnecting to Your Inner SongMaker
A practice of presence and of reclaiming our innocent spirit, using spontaneous sound and song as the vehicle. We each hold a key to compassion and wisdom, for ourselves and others, and this practice provides a means for using the key. The benefits of Honoring the SoulVoice include a deeper capacity for empathy and a greater ease in expressing one's self. Often offered as a workshop following the ceremony.
The Honoring: Ceremony in Song
New songs are created spontaneously, 'in the moment', in response to personal and universal themes spoken by participants. The themes of healing, empowerment, right relationship and awakening are often referred to. In the presence of all participants, individuals are selected as recipients for these intuitive, original songs created by Michael. Conducted onsite or via conference. The original songs are recorded for all participants to receive following the event.
ChantWave: A Community Celebration in Song
A practice of singing to remember who we are when we 'get out of the way'. The result can be a feeling of connection to the source of life, to ourselves, and to each other. The practice of vocalizing chants and songs of sacred or healing lyrics, to shift from a 'head consciousness' to a 'heart consciousness', is an ancient tradition with contemporary interpretation. The program combines music, song, chant, spoken word and silence in a way that honors our connected Spirit.
Film Series, 'In Search of The Great Song'
The Song Without Borders film series, In Search of The Great Song, explores and celebrates an inherent connection to an underlying creative 'pulse', emerging and expressing individually and uniquely by everyone and everything.
The first release of the series is the feature-length documentary,
Shining Night: A Portrait of Composer Morten Lauridsen, winning two Best Documentary Awards and called 'a heartening rarity' by Wall Street Journal.
Songleading from the Inside
For musicians and singers who have heard the call to dedicate their musical gifts to the service of awakening, this program is designed to cultivate the qualities required to be successful in this path.
Michael is available for your next conference or gathering to deliver an inspiring multi-media presentation on subjects such as The Great Song of You, The Art of Presence, Sustaining the Heart of Healthcare, Stewarding the Mystery, and Living in the Fire of Now.
